1" (25.4mm) Stainless Purchase

Hello, I’m focused at a MPCNC Primo build using plastic parts purchased from V1. Searching for stainless and find that Amazon product (1" OD 304/304L Stainless Steel Tubing, Welded, 16 Gauge (.065) - 6’) at $25.72 per 6’ tube is best price I find. Will this .065 thickness be adequate support for a 24" x 24" build?

Amazon also sells (
Unpolished (Mill) 1008-1010 Steel Round Tube, 1" Outer Diameter, 0.065" Wall Thickness, 0.8700" Inner Diameter, 4’ Length) for $8.99 per 4’ length. Great savings over the stainless. I recognize this may rust. Are there other issues to be considered?

MetalsDepot.com is where I got my stainless tubing, shipping will only be around $10 for 5 pieces. Will more than make up for the difference in price with what you showed from amazon. I got the polished stainless.

I bit the bullet on my Lowrider I figure you pay it now or later with rust and corrosion, plus the bearings like the stainless better. I don’t thing Ryan at V1 would have any of us spend money unnecessarily. Go for the SS! I got mine local paid 6.25 / ft.

Thanks Fred. Yes, my preference is a SS purchase.

Ron, Thanks. I’ll look at Metals Depot.
