After 2 years

I’m not that far along, Ryan.
I stopped at the point of the above pictures

One of the reasons I took 2 years to do this is I thought I may be too dumb to do this

Yes, those rails should absolutely be tight in the clamps. I don’t see any issues at this point.

Nope, not going to let that happen.

I appreciate your willingness to stick with me, Ryan.

You can do it!!!

We’ll see, Matt.
I’m assembling the Middle right now.

Famous last words- looks simple enough that a 6 year old can do it.
Only problem is I don’t have any 6 year olds around

Look at it this way, we’re all multiples of 6…!!! Or working towards the next 6…

If I don’t break them first

I got this far:

Now I’m confused (again)
I think I should be on MPCNC Final Assembly
But didn’t square the gantry.
Do I square it then take it off to measure the diagonals?

And which wires do I use for the steppers?
Right now, the steppers are real loose

Sorry to be so dumb

The instructions have you set the diagonals first, 2-Base - V1 Engineering Documentation then double check later.

You can still adjust it after the fact. It is not a huge deal and it can always be adjusted later. Try not to overthink it too much.

Did you buy the kit from me, it comes with wires?

Thanks for your patience, Ryan.
I did buy everything from you.

Some of my confusion may come from the section called MPCNC-Final Assembly.
In the preceding steps, we put the gantry on and squared it up and then it’s not on the beginning of the final assembly.

When do I tighten the 4 stepper bolts?

So do you have the wires or is the question answered?

It has you check in two places, and says “check your work as you go”. You should be checking as you go to make sure things do not move or get bumped.

??? The Stepper M3 screws? When you put them on. They are not adjustable. If that is not what you are talking about read ahead and see when it has you snug them up.

I have wires, several different ones.
Thanks for the clarification on the M3 screws and tightening up.
What’s ironic is that I could build you a house from scratch but am a total dunderhead with this

Just take your time, when it is all done it will make complete sense. It is nothing like a house!

Do you still have questions about them? I don’t know what you have so you would have to show a picture if you are still confused.

I’m going out to muddle around in a little.
I’ll see if I confuse myself and get back to you

Thank you

Appreciate your continued indulgence and patience.

I am squaring the gantry and I’m slightly out of square.
My “Y” needs to move slightly to my left

Is this for Tension Bolt C and do I tighten or loosen?
All these bolts are pretty loose

Thank you

Just give it a try. Start too loose and only do very small adjustments. It is opposite of what most think.

Also if you have dual endstops don’t worry about it if you are close.

Thanks again, Ryan.
I don’t have dual endstops but wonder if I should have
