I wish he would have done a straight drill too.
The straight fluted ones have a drill point on them, I’m going to order some today. I saw a few other videos about them as well.
The up down I believe have an upcut at the bottom and down cut at the top so if you do a deep enough cut you will get a good surface cut on both faces. Bigger mills you can get into variable flutes so it is tight near the tip and then the flutes open up to clear chips better, but they are really expensive.
I love seeing things like this and learning about a new cutter, but at the same time I feel like a dope not having seen them before. I can’t know everything I guess…there goes my ego.
