Converting raw material to dust, firewood, and the occasional cool project

Had some fun this xmas, decided to make presents instead of buying them.

First is a plaque I made for the company I did my internship at:

Material was FR4 glued to a sheet of yellow acrylic. Used an engraving bit, a 2-Flute endmill, and a 1.2mm rotary burr to clean up the corners.

Also designed this picture frame and carved it out of a beautiful walnut board. Used a 2 Flute downcutter to contour all the edges, then rounded them with a 1/8 ball nose

I made some cutting boards from a hickory panel, and used the mpcnc to add a slanted juice gutter and collector to one of them, very happy with the result, it looked amazing after conditioning it.

Slanted blood gutter?!?! Why didn’t I think of that?

Those are beautiful cutting boards! Now I want to go pick up some hickory! Too bad I just spent all my pocket money for the month…
