##define X_bed_size question

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if we need to set:
#define X_BED_SIZE 200
#define Y_BED_SIZE 200
to what our cutting area is in Marlin 2.0?

I am familiar with Marlin with respect to 3d printers so setting these values seems necessary to me.

Only if you use dual endstops and want to home from more than 200mm away. I rarely change this as I am usually within 200mm of the endstop.

Ok, thanks!

I changed them values as my MPCNC was larger. Now I moved to a new (smaller) table and need to resize table accordingly. Bit it helps homing when you are far away.

It still trips me up on occasion with my homing. I am too chicken to reflash firmware because it works great now.

@jeffeb3, is this something you can set permanently with a gcode command or not? I’m never sure how that works.

I’ve not seen a gcode command for it. Maybe that should be something we PR into Marlin, since we are probably the only ones that have whatever sized bed you want. Volunteers?

Just for information, these dimensions are in mm.
