Diode laser lifespan and lens cover?

My diode laser has a little clear lens protector that screws on. It has done its job well, but after hundreds of hours of use the cover has a crack and is dirty resulting in less power getting through and sub-optimal focus.

I’ve searched all over Aliexpress for a replacement without luck.

On that topic, what lifespan are other people getting out of their lasers? Mine has at least 300 hours at 100% on it and is otherwise going strong, so I wouldn’t feel bad about having to replace it, but not sure what to expect.

Greetings, maybe something like this is the spare part you need?

Collimating Coated Glass Focusing Lens for 405nm Violet/Blue Laser Diode Nice FO

I can’t yet talk about the lifespan of mine because it has worked less than half as long as yours. Maybe I’m wrong, but 300 hours seems to me to be too little for the lens to deteriorate (I’m speaking from ignorance).

Roger

I don’t think I was clear. The lens is in fine shape, but there is a little protective lens cover (kind of like the UV filter you put on your SLR) that is in rough shape.
