The “auto home” option has ruined way too many projects for me.
Is there a way to disable it? It’s not in the configuration files I assume it’s some default menu somewhere.

Auto home was not an issue for me. However, the homing of individual axis in the same menu destroyed my lead screw couplers several times because it’s easy to mistake these items with the options in the “Motion” menu. While I have not found a way to disable Auto home, you can remove the individual axis option by commenting out #define INDIVIDUAL_AXIS_HOMING_MENU in Configuration.h. I know this isn’t a solution for your problem but it has helped me immensely.
