I am currently trying to see what parts i may have laying around for this and was wondering if the Elegoo mega 2560 r3 would or could be compatible for my build. Im not even sure what its good for really. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am going to be building the mpcnc. Probably aized up to 3 foot by 3 foot. Just wasnt sure if this board is usable or not. If it is it could be a considerable savings maybe.
After a quick search, I do believe it is workable but you’ll spend alot more time wiring in the drivers. Plus a massive headache.
Looks like its equivalent to an arduino mega, so you would need a ramps shield. That shouldn’t be a problem but a ton of the ramps shields out there have cut too many corners and will die when you try to use them for cnc. If you gave patience and can tolerate the risk, it can work, but you may have to buy multiple ones after the bad ones cook themselves.
