Hey everyone,
I’ve been using Estlcam for a while now and it’s super great and powerful, but there’s one thing I can’t seem to do for the life of me. The 3D feature works great, even with some minor bugs, and the Trochoidal feature works great as well, but I can’t seem to get them to work together.
Has anyone gotten this combination working? It would be really nice to use trochoidal toolpaths with 3D programs!
If anyone has any tips or ideas please let me know!

That’s definitely a Christian question, but I don’t think you can do that.

it is not possible at the moment and also wouldn’t be practicable with Estlcams current 3d strategies. The CNC programs would be hughe - easily in the hundreds of megabyte range for a medium sized part.
That’s just something that would require far more complex algorithms to produce meaningful results.

Ah, I see, that’s a shame… It would be nice to be able to work with 3D objects in the same way you work with 2D objects. The free machining and block machining is nice, but it would be even better to decide manual toolpaths… Do you think this is possible in the future?
