F-engrave help

I posted before about the problems I was having, which thanks to the brain trust here those are fixed.

Now I need help with settings:

I did a simple box with a “M” as a test piece.

The male portion came out well, except I was off just a bit on my clean up bit, left a little “ring” around that z depth wasn’t quite right.

The female piece is the real problem.
The depth and width are to much.
1/3 inch 60 degree v-bit. set the max cut depth at -2 mm and a prismatic over cut at -3 mm. The measured depth is almost -6 mm. The male piece is -3. Leaves a lot of slop.

Measured the the surface width of the female cut out and its 24.75 mm and the male piece is 19.5
This is the outside of the legs of the “M”
Measured the movement (slop) and its about 6 inches.

Any advice?

I dont understand why the female piece is cutting so deep.
Thanks again,
