Someone that can explain why it’s doing that?
If I remove the belts, it moves soooo easy.
But now if I run code, it moves like step by step, not smooth.
And it makes a strange sound… that you can hear.
It almost sounds like it’s trying to turn, but doesnt have power enough on Z-axis.
Not sure what i can do more to make it slide - tension-bolts (the 4) are set kinda loose!

What are you doing? Are you running my test code? From the LCD or Repetier?

Can you control it manually from the lcd or repetier?

I followed the instructions according to this link: https://www.v1engineering.com/estlcam-basics/
I do not have the LCD, i’m using Repetier. If i manually jog it, it still does the same like short movements.

Can you control it manually from the lcd or repetier?
I can control it from the Repetier with the manual movement, but it stil is stiff like that, in all directions. It’s not smooth at all when i run some code or jog it.

Can you post a pic of your board wired and plugged in please.

See attached.

This one shows me joging it, 1 click at a time - you kinda see how it “jumps”.

Can I see the power plug.

1mm doesn’t show anything try 10mm or 50mm

Can you run my test logo file and see what happens. I think your repetier has some goofy settings and my file should bypass all of that.

From the bottom of this page, https://www.v1engineering.com/estlcam-basics/

I am trying to run the testfile. I’ll record it for you! Give me a few mins!

It doesn’t run smooth at all… not sure why? It kinda just jogs…

To see it you have to check “show travel moves”.

In repetier it is showing your the error in red, the laptop does not have enough power and wants reduced visuals.

I just removed ALL the belts from the cogs.
I ran the script.
Nothing happens barely, they do a few turns, then nothing.
They just make sounds and its like they have no Power at all…

This is so strange…

Ryan, is the Power-indicator supposed to pulsate…? The green light on the Kastar
I just noticed that the green light pulsates at the SAME rate as the motors try to turn.
As i pulled the power coord, it started to pulsate more slowly, and so did the motors.

The power supply could be funky, Which one did you get I have had an issue with the larger 9A ones.

Did you fix the repetier issue?

Output of 12V 6A

I have it enabled, but i still see nothing sadly…

Did the error message go away?

I’m not sure what to do, I guess it could be the power supply or the board.

If you have another power supply 12v 2A or greater you can try that, and if it is the problem I can send you a new supply. Or you can send back the ramps and the power supply and I can test them both and replace the faulty one. I really doubt it is the ramps though since it gets pretty thoroughly tested before shipping. I stopped testing all the power supplies because the 6A have not had any issues.

I can now confirm that the Power Supply is broken.
I found another one with 12v 6A, split the cables and then connected it - works like a charm.

Awesome, thank you so much for troubleshooting, I can ship you a new powersupply today.
