I am hoping to grab one of the J-Tech 2W lasers that others have been using with success.
After researching laser cutters and such, I have been a little worried for my eyesight while operating the laser. I understand the dangers, and that is why I want to take the necessary precautions when operating.
The kit comes with safety glasses for the 445nm range, but they also sell the orange safety shielding. As my MPCNC is reasonable large (36"x36"x20" total size), a full enclosure is out of the discussion. Could I get away with the glasses and a setup like the attached?
If you are currently using a laser, what does your setup look like, are you using any extra shielding?
Help put my mind to ease a little, because I am really interested in engraving!
