I had a good dust shoe setup based on this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3435743, but I had to move it out of the way for z-probing and tool changes, plus it was hard to see what the tool was doing, so I did another remix of that thing in translucent PETG and attached a short length of LED strip on the inside, then routed the cable to the 12V supply.
This is the result:
Works great and so far there is enough suction that I don’t get sawdust flying everywhere. It’s much easier to see what is happening. I didn’t attach a dust shoe brush, and that doesn’t seem to matter.
