Lowrider 2 not cutting square

Heffe you are a rockstar! You always approach these things from a different angle and get to the bottom of things super fast.

Alright I got them all moved around like it showed and that’s what I got from the m122

Looks much better. What is the next issue we have to deal with? Play with it and see if it cuts/draws square.

Well it wasn’t cutting square but could that have something to do with this?

Ok I’ll try a cut now.

Ok so now the stepper motors have a high pitch squeel to them?

As long as they move some noise can be normal.

Yes the move fine but once I engage them they start squeeling so that’s normal?

Yes, that means they are energized and holding.

If they move the only thing is to make sure you are at the right current, but it is easy to check with some use. For now stick with the testing.

Alright I’ll do some cuts and let y’all know, thanks!

So I started the mashine exactly square and the rectangle is still unsquare that’s 4 inches wide

That has to do with your build and how you start it.

How exactly do you start that square cut?

Please attach a picture of your full build so I don’t have to ask a bunch of configuration questions. That will get us to the resolution much faster.

So I make sure the steppers are disabled then I get 2 exactly the size boards and pull the mashine back onto the boards so it’s level and all the way back to the belt tensioner on each side then enable the steppers. And I was gonna wait to make all the wiring look good and stuff untill the mashine cut perfectly or would you recommend doing it right away to be sure nothing would come undone nothing should most is zip tied in place so I don’t think it should bother.

Sorry to hijack your thread @BenG but can you give me some details on your vacuum connection and does it work?

How do you know your tensioners are perfectly square?

This is part of the setup. Use your machine under power to mark all four corners of your work area and measure them diagonally. If the numbers are not the same or within a mm or two you need to move or shim one of the belt tensioners. Mine was built close enough to where I just use a few layers of blue tape to shim between the belt stop and Z rail.

Alright I’ll try that tomorrow and see how close it is.

Hey I just found it on thingiverse to fit the end of my shop vac, yeah so far it’s worked great
