MPCNC Primo Control Board

Hello all, I’m in the process of building the MPCNC primo and need to purchase a control board. I plan on using this for milling and eventually laser cutting/engraving. What would be the best control board to buy? I’ve been watching the V1 engineering shop for a while and it seems like everything is sold out… Does anybody know when there will be more boards available? Or is there a better place to buy them?

Thanks,
Matt

They get sold pretty fast but they are frequently in stock. The email notification feature is the best way to get told when they are in stock.

The rambo is still king. But the minirambo also works well. The slr pro os probably a good choice, but it is pretty new. So it may have issues we don’t know about yet.

Since you seem to be German, have a look at this: https://blog.altholtmann.com/uebersicht-status/
It lists alternatives. I think @Directlaw has got the OpenCNC board, I got the Arduinoclub board.

The Grbl_ESP32 board from Bart Dring is worth a look but isn’t widely used on this forum yet. GRBL supports laser cutting well and you can switch functions without reloading firmware as long as you don’t need the spindle relay to control your router spindle. Bart does provide excellent support and has other controllers in development. One day we might convince Ryan to sell them.

@EisenholzDesign

I got the OpenCNC shield and the so called expansion Panel. The OpenCNC shield gives you a lot of flexibility e.g. regarding the operating voltage and it seems to be pretty easy to add more features over time. Have a look at the overview @Tokoloshe posted.

PS. English documentation for the board was added a few days ago.
