Need for some beginners advice

Hi, I have started to collect and print the parts for the LR. I saw someone here had printed the Y-plates so I’m doing this as well, I’ll also print the X-plate. Since my Ender 5 can’t print them in one piece my idea to add rigidity is to make two surface slots 90 degrees to the dovetails and glue that in. I hope that will be enough, at least to get the printer going so that I then can cut them out in veneer.

Anyway, to my real question, I have a Black&Decker KW780 which doesn’t have an easily detachable router base to attach to the X-plate so I have designed and printed one, see the picture below. This base is now designed to, more or less, be permanently attached to the router. Would I be better off redesigning it with some kind of quick release? It would be a pain to switch router bit with the current design.

Thanks for your comments!

Cheers, Henric

If you can do it, I say go for it. I only used a 611 with mine, but I never changed a single endmill while it was mounted.
