New Fusion 360 Add in to check out...Slicer

Don’t know if you have seen this yet, but Fusion 360 has added something that will be ideal for all of us cnc router users. Take your design and slice it down into managable thicknesses so we can cut them and assemble them later. Here is a link from Autodesk describing it:

And here is where you can download it from:
Windows: https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=8699194120463301363&os=Win64&appLang=en
Mac:https://apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=8699194120463301363&os=Mac&appLang=en

Now I really, really need to finish my build.

Really interesting! Thank you for sharing.

This looks like it could be really useful. I hope I can mess around with it soon and see what it can do.

That’s really cool, I’ll def. have to try this out.

Already have ideas for it too

Threw my bicycle kickstand design into it just to see how it’d work as a 1/4" plywood sliced object

It appears to have a lot of options, and settings that can be tweaked. as well as auto-generated assembly directions.

*only issue ive seen so far is it doesn’t let me manually arrange the cut layout in slicer (from what i’ve seen anyway)

Autodesk 123d make has this function as well.

yeh, but they’re getting rid of 123d / dropping supoprt for it.

123Dapp.com will close early April 2017”

Lame!

luckily they knew people would want it’s unique features like this.
“We are consolidating these tools and features into key apps such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, and ReMake.”

So (hopefully) that means Fusion 360 is going to be getting even more features like slicer in the near future (before april?)
