Octoprint

It should work just fine. It will even work in Windows, although I’ve never tried that myself. https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/wiki/Setup-on-Windows

I’m guessing getting it to work in Linux is easier, but I use Linux all the time, so maybe not for everyone. Octoprint has a very healthy google group to answer any specific setup questions. It’s probably something similar to these instructions: https://github.com/foosel/OctoPrint/wiki/Setup-on-a-Raspberry-Pi-running-Raspbian

That being said, installation on a pi using the octopi image is really really easy. So if you’re pressed for time and flush with cash, it’s definitely a better solution.

Yea, octopi is much easier to set up and run. I have octoprint running on a laptop because I kept crashing octopi with a couple gcode files, too big. The only issue I have is I can’t get it to autoupdate the software.

I’ve got octopi running on a pi zero w, and couldn’t use the really really easy octopi setup. It wouldn’t support wifi yet.

Still building the MPCNC, and hoping to use octo too send files and monitor it…

Latest nightly works.
