One Part Core Clamp

I had an idea today of having one large core clamp replacing all four separate core clamps. One huge clamp that wraps itself around the core’s back side. If it s not quite clear I could sketch something up.

That might increase overall stability and solve squaring issues (provided you have a square printer of course).
On the other hand I am concerned by this part being massively over constrained and therefore not work at all. But that should probably fixable by making it flexible in all areas that count. You might also loose some work area and it might print even longer than the core itself but to me it seems worth trying.

What do you guys think? Am I missing something?
I am really looking forward to hear your thoughts!

The print orientation limits you to maybe two large parts, but that won’t do anything but add useless moving mass. The clamps are just there to hold bearings against the core.

Machines need to have some sort of adjustments to dial things in to account for other discrepancies and stack up error.

That makes sense.

Thank you for the quick answer!
