Ramp 1.4 from kit Amperage and temperature error.

Is the ramp that came with the kit already set at the correct amperage? For some reason it is getting the better of me. Also, I’m getting a (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting) error via repetier host. I have already connected the 100Ohm resistor which I read should solve this. I keep rereading the instructions but it’s not clicking for me.

Read through this and watch the video. It details setting up your RAMPS board, and calibrating the stepper drivers.

If you got it from me, it is ready to go. No need to set or calibrate anything.

The first picture on that page shows a checkbox that is usually the problem. Check for temps needs to be checked.

Thank you both for the replies, I did read through and watch the video, but I had no idea which potentiometer to test or where to put my cables.

Ok Vicious, I actually tried both checked and unchecked before posting the first time. I just changed everything back but I’m still getting the maxTemp triggered error / invalid:?t extruder.

Some info that might help. Adding the resistor pushes the extruder temperature up +(500C)

When I add the resistor…
Extruder Temp status (575.6C)
Log:
18:53:04.349 : Error:0
18:53:04.350 : : Extruder switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !
18:53:04.356 : Error:Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)

When I remover the resistor…
Extruder Temp status (27C)
18:53:04.349 : Error:0
18:53:04.350 : : Extruder switched off. MINTEMP triggered !
18:53:04.356 : Error:Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)

These errors persist whether I change the Max Temperature in the printer setting.

3rd person with the same problem today there is another thread already. I have no idea what is going on. I tested the boards with the resistors I sent out. I am testing them again but this is a new batch of boards.

The quick fix is just flash this https://www.v1engineering.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Marlin_16_32_083015_THERM.zip

Found the problem, one of the bags of resistors is 100 ohms, needs to be 100k ohms.
Sorry the other firmware should work. I’ll update it soon and put it on the homepage shortly.

Thank you very much!

I was just reading up on how to flash the firmware and then I refreshed this page.
I just happened to buy “Make Electronics” Component kit and I have a few 100kOhm resistors.

Just put one on and the problem is solved.

Thanks Again!
