Ready to start cutting!

Hi everyone!
My machine is built and tested with a pen. http://youtu.be/kNCihP-yK0Y

I just mounted my spindle and ready to try cutting some 1" and 1/4" foam board then move onto 1/4" mdf.

Would anyone have any recommended settings for cutting that material? I’m going to be using 1/8" endmill bit.

Thanks,
Mark

I have some good settings on the 2.5d tutorial.

Awesome, thanks I’ll check that out.

I did a test today, went slow. http://youtu.be/-JEHJ2DxuQc

The dollar store sells 20"x30"x3/16" foam board which is working nicely for testing. Also picked up some 1" foam board from hd.

I think it was asked before about seamed stainless steel tubing. I can confirm that it works well. I have the seam facing the bottom. Paid about 15 bucks for a ten foot length of 1", .065"wall.

Thanks so much for designing this cnc machine and making it open source. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating this and the build went together very easy.
