I know I do not hear many people talk about it so it would be nice to hear if and how much people pay in %.
Mostly, you’ll be paying HST tax. I’m in Alberta so it was lower. Some.parts do have dury as well, and it kind of depends on who is looking, since some.things SHOULD have duty on them, manufactured in China, like steppers. Some depend on if they count it as steel (bolts, screws) and the current political mood.
The amount of tax also depends on declared value and the day’s exchange rate. My order was pretty close to $275 USD and I paid $27.88 CAD in taxes and duty. Like I said, I’m in Alberta, so tax is 5% GST.
The system is a bit random but you can expect to pay pst and gst or hst depending on the province (12% in BC) and a $10 handling fee charged by Canada Post.
