SKR Board Z1 Jumpers

I noticed on the photos under the Contol Board section that there are two jumpers on the second Z output (Z1). It appears to connect 2B to 2A and 1B to 1A. Just curious if this is required and what this does.
thanks

The board ships like that and I’m pretty sure it just closes the loop so that the signals/power goes exclusively to the first Z output.

Those two ports are wired in series. Most extra Z ports are wired in parallel. Series has the advantage of delivering the same amount of current to both motors. Parallel halves the current, but doesn’t drop off at high speeds.

It’s really neat, and I wish a little 3 driver board would do the same. But for any skr owners, it doesn’t really matter, because you’ll be using dual endstops anyway and you can give the second Z its own driver.

There might be one use case, where you want to drive a low rider, without reflashing. That could use that port.

For everyone else, leave the jumpers in there, or the Z won’t work.

thanks!

Lol and you can’t run 1 z without those jumpers on the second. Don’t ask me how I figured that out
