Spoilboard question

I have my MPCNC all set up and am trying to get the spoil board all set up. My question is this, is it better to have your spoil board set to the cutting area you desire or the entire inside of the MPCNC?

In designing my MPCNC, I was aiming for a 2’ x 3’ cutting area. Well, I measured out that and it does not fill the entire travel for the cutter.

I made mine the size of my cutting dimensions. That way I know that if I mount something on the board, the cutter can reach it.

I also made the spoil board square to the router. That way I can index my pieces from the edge of the spoil board for squaring up.

I have mine extend out the y axis both ways, I tend to always use pieces that hang off the edges.

Ok, I am ready to install spoilboard.
Here’s my problem. I have added a 1/2 groove in my table and beefed up the 611 plate to 1/2" for strength :muscle:. Now with the CNC Router at it’s lowest point before I add spoil board I have 7/16" clearance before I add the 1/2" MDF.

Any ideas? I am using 5 end stops and they won’t work as things sit now.

Any input on this if you’ve run it to this issue is greatly appreciated!
