Stepper moving erraticly

I started having a weird issue with one of my X stepper motors. When i move it in either direction, it starts by moving a few mm in the opposite direction before moving the way I sent. Has anyone ever experienced that?

If I send +50mm it will go a few mm in the negative direction, then go the +50mm

Well checked the wiring and it was the connection between the stepper and the long piece of wire I had it connected to. Green wire had come out.
