Still not cutting some things straight

You are measuring the hypotenuse of the vcarve bit, all that says is your table/machine isn’t perfectly level. Meaning some places are deaper than others, You would not see that with a straight bit as it does not get wider with depth.

And you seem to be using some giant cabinetry vbit. Try an endmill that takes off a reasonable amount of material.

Measure the width of the Vcarve channel, I bet it is wider and narrower in places.

Ok thanks I will do that. The V but I ordered from you should be here tomorrow.

Oh yeah, what’s the best way to make sure the table is level? I’ve made sure the frame is the same distance from the table all around.

Well the easiest way is to just surface your entire part, with a light skim.

You could also surface your table, but at this point you don’t actually know if it was your material or your table.

I’ve never surfaced it before. The wood I’m working with could be bowed a tad too. How much should I take off of it when I surface it?

As little as possible.
