The 'Black and Blue' LR3 build

I’ll try it, but that line has been in everything I’ve run since I started using carveco, including all the stuff I’ve shared here .

Quick fix if so.

I’ll let you know.

What happens if I just delete that section? I presume it’ll have no effect and will use the feedrate specified in the later gcode?

The first two lines need to be fixed. Paste that section of code here and I will edit it.

in the post processor:

FIRST_FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”
FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z]”

This would be awesome,

RAPID_RATE_MOVE = “G0 [X [Y] [Z] [F]”
FIRST_FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [Y] [Z] [F]”
FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [Y] [Z] [F]”

If that doesn’t work use this one.

RAPID_RATE_MOVE = “G0 [X [Y] [Z] F2400”
FIRST_FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [Y] [Z] [F]”
FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [Y] [Z] [F]”

Thanks Ryan

I don’t know why that worked, but it did. I was able to run the 140kb file after replacing that section with your edit.

Appreciate it!

You should share that Post Processor with the creator so they can fix it for everyone.

Nah, that is the extent of my programming abilities.

Good thinking. I’ll do that.

Was cutting circles for this project/ expanding, cleaning up my 5” duct dust collection. Doubles as a finishing shelf (which I’m going to CNC a rack for)

Found another oddity. It does not like files with spaces in the name…

That explains another thing that been bugging me

Also- been having a little trouble updating the PP with the code you supplied. Been able to make it get rid of the floating ‘480’ values,

But if I add either of these, I get an error in carveco and I can’t use the PP.

Been trying to compare some of the other PP in the folder to see how others handle
This section, but even outright copying a few was unsuccessful.

I haven’t been able to spend any time on it today- honey-do list was at max. Knocked a few of those projects off and hope to get back
To the LR work tomorrow

Crap I made a mistake.

This would be awesome,

RAPID_RATE_MOVE = “G0 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”
FIRST_FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”
FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”

If that doesn’t work use this one.

RAPID_RATE_MOVE = “G0 [X] [Y] [Z] F2400”
FIRST_FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”
FEED_RATE_MOVE = “G1 [X] [Y] [Z] [F]”

The X in the rapid move was missing a bracket “]”

Sorry, those are fixed

Nah, I caught those already. My first move.

I still get the error. It’s definitely in that line, because the error even shows that line with an incorrect syntax tag.

I’ll try to get on it after I get kids in bed and send a screenshot.

Got a few minutes to finish up part of the magnetic dust collection hose collars, used for switching between main tools (vertical drop) and the CNC/ Outfeed sanding collection (horizontal)

Also shown is the temp 5”-4”- 2.5” reducer (I somehow lost my bought piece), so I’m currently printing a @DougJoseph 4” to 2.5” reducer

I had planned - and partly made- a blast gate box but I was having issues getting threaded inserts for the Perspex cover to hold on the (really crappy) HD plywood. And I was getting bored having the project stalled out. So I’ll keep those blast gates for the drill press and band saw ports instead.

Laser testing today

Small power ramp test set at 28mm/s for Easter scanning

My 10w neje is a bit too powerful to get good greys, as expected, and my mount is too flexible to allow higher speeds.
Even at 28mm there was too much oscillation for it to be useable.

Printing a shorter mount as we speak, am I’m going to rigidificate it a bit after printing with some bracing. Outside of my skill zone for remixing so I’ll go old school

Uuggh. A little dissapointed. About to try an actual vector image at a couple speeds. We’ll see

And a quicker run at 50mm/s and 50% starting power showed improvement in the oscillations, but introduced the known limits with Raster >28mm on the skr pro board
