Which MDF thickness - 10 or 16mm for side roller plates?

Hello! Please some advice:

Here in Portugal I have access to 10mm or 16 mm thick MDF . Which one should I use to make the side plates? 1/2 inch plywood is about 13 mm metric. Is 10mm mdf strong enough? I would prefer 16mm thick mdf but I’m not sure if the bolts used are long enough…

Err on the side of stronger, so 16.
