need some advice, I have a breakout board that sends signal to my drivers for nema 23. what size wire should I use there. I am not going over a foot. Is that line a signal line, I wouldn’t think it would be to high of current.
If you are asking about logic level inputs like “step,” , you can look up the max current on the datasheet for the chip. I just looked at the datasheet for DRV8825 to get an idea. The max current is 100 mirco amps (0.1 ma), so the current pulled over the wire is tiny. Using 28 gauge wire or even smaller should work fine for this driver chip over a 12 inches of distance.
