XYZ zeroing

Hello, me again.

Have I got this right?

When I go to cut something and have it all set up…

I get the router where I want it, have the spinning cutter just kissing the work surface, then I turn the power off to the board/steppers, turn it back on and it is zeroed… Then load the GCODE and away we go.

Is there a way with the LCD controller to set that spot as zero zero zero on the controller? Or is this the only way?

Rob

The lcd should have a command to set home, so you’ll want to use that. Check in the custom commands menu. That way you can set your squareness first however you want, either holding the gantry against stops while powering on or using dual endstops. In either case, if you power off you’ll probably lose square.

A lot of post processors like to add G92 X0 Y0 Z0 at the beginning which will reset the current position.

@turbomacncheese is correct that there is a Custom Command in the LCD that you can use to reset the Home also. Which I think is just running the above command.

Yup, that’s what it does.

Thanks for that. I am away for a week but will try it when I get home.
