Estl Cam/Repetier Host Scaling Help

I’m sure it’s something wrong i’m doing but i’m not sure what.

When I open a dxf file in estlcam I open it in mm, I have the grid set to 25x25 mm

I believe 25.4 mm is equal to 1 inch? I resize my dxf file in estlcam to be approximately 16 inches by 16 inches

or approximately 400mm x 400mm according to grid … I save the cnc program , load it in repetier and it shows
that it’s about 4 times the size of the area of the “bed”

is there a way to change the scale in repetier of the bed or is my resized cnc program file actually going to
try and run gigantic compared to what it should be

I have not actually tried to run this job yet

I appreciate any info and help

Do you have your settings in estlcam’s cnc program generation set for mm? Pretty sure repetier only does metric, so no real settings there.

The “bed” inrepetier is just a visual thing. No impact on you gcode.

It is easy to change to your bed in the settings just change the bed size.

Becareful your bed zero is where you set it though. In the earlier days this caused confusion for people.

yes settings is estlcam are mm

Good to know the “bed” in repetier is just visual…

I will take a look at the settings.

understood about the bed zero being where I set it.

thanks for the info!

I’m going to try running this larger job with my 1/4" 2 flute endmill.

I believe my chattering might have been caused from the plywood I was using not being perfectly level , it had a slight convex to it in the middle.

Really looking forward to learning the art of CNC with this machine.

Now if I could just find a local source of HDPE color core sheets to mill some dual color signs !
