Just thought I would pass on a pearl of wisdom for all those of use that are mounting Lasers to our MPCNC’s.
Connecting a laser to the fan output and using M103/4 and using Marlin does have limits and that is that when it comes to engraving photos etc, the through put of data can cause quality issues.
After much hair pulling, I got this advice from Oz at Lightburn - “This is Marlin, correct? If you’re using one of the fan outputs with default / stock firmware, they only update about 10 times per second, which is fine for cutting but far too slow for engraving.”
