Looks like this could be very helpful. I need to see how you define the work area and if you can use a probe command to measure the surface. But this could really be the key to large carvings.

Also, I see you recommend Octoprint alot, is there anywhere on how you use it? I did a few searches, but mostly see the v1pi, nothing about octoprint itself. Useful macros, etc?
I think it is as simple as when I connected my 3d printer, correct? Grab serial and it just connects. Is there any tips and tricks? I personally installed octoprint to a windows pc, so All I have to do is spin up another port and I can have my cnc on it as well. One pc for both.
I am using v1 marlin on with a ramps 1.4 if that is necessary for my question.
I haven’t tried anything else.
I don’t believe there is any specific settings to make a Marlin CNC work with octoprint. You can just follow the normal octoprint setup instructions.

My foray into the v1pi was using Octoprint, which I found to be pretty much a run and done deal. I started up Octoprint, it connected to the CNC, and let me do whatever I needed to do with it.
What about leveling did you Get it working?
I never tried it.
