"SOLVED" Y axis irregularity

I was doing a 4in by 2.5 in pocket, 1/4 flat end mill 2 flute up cut. The cutting was on the X axis. When moving from +Y to -Y have nice smooth cut. But when moving -Y to +Y, there is a significant amount of “fuss” and stepover line. After I was done, I went back and looked and I had the stepover set at 75%. Was cutting soft curly maple, 2mm depth per cut.

Any thoughts? Sorry I cleaned the part up and didn’t take a pic. Can attach the file if that helps.

I decided to check all the nuts and bolts before looking at level and tram. Found some play in the router. Turns out my lower tool mount broke. It allowed the router to tilt towards the +Y, causing the uneven lines, no deflection on -Y. So get a new one of those.

After further investigation, I had the top and bottom mounts reversed, most likely the cause of the failure. Job sent off to my printer and then correct my error and back to making chips.
