Stepper motor dimensions (length)

Good day Everybody!

I’m a new kid on the block  and currently doing my parts sourcing research, trying to understand how to get the machine built at the lowest possible cost while keeping it reliable.

One particular question I have is about stepper motor length (or hight? ). I see the most common build has 47/48mm length motor. But does it have to be 47/48?

According to assembly instructions there is nothing that should dictate the length. Are there any other considerations? I see lots of motors out there with required torque in 30 to 40mm range. Something I’m missing?

Thank you!
Serge

Shouldn’t matter. The things to consider would be motor weight and power. Sounds like you already figured out the power. Less weight = more better.

Thank you Kyle!
