Decided to see what I can do for friends getting married. The base is 1/2 inch. The black S and the white last name are both 1/4 inch. The monogram piece also has the backing for the last name. Everything is made from birch plywood.
I think next time, I will cut the last name out of 1/2 inch upside down and then carve out the place for the monogram. That should make it easier to line up. But for my first attempt, I’m really happy with the way this turned out.
