anyone ever use a pressure foot with the low rider?

Yes thats a pressure foot, and there are others that are more gentle to vinyl, and leather, but the one in the video from the linked post is a dust boot.

With the right combination (a big z, free floating spindle system and the pressure foot (one that have a max depth limit) you can do awesome stuff with acm. (Thats material that you have to dial in your settings exactly because you are leaving just .8mm of material or 1 mm when doing the V grooves or you can damage it.

Similar things are used with PCB routers to get super accurate depths. The one we have uses an automatic tool changer combined with a ramped slope to set the depth of the tool extremely accurately in order to make ~0.1-0.2mm depth cuts in PCBs.
