I finally decided to upgrade my X Axis drag chain to something more substantial that would handle the stepper motor wire and the cable from the DWP611 router.
This is based on the X Axis tape motor mount-
Open cable chain:
Scale these by 150% in Cura to get a more robust chain. With the scaling, the links sit nicely across the V channel and are about 1" long
Custom mount extender:
I designed this in Fusion 360 to provide mounting for the cable chain and allow clearance for removing the router for bit changes:
